Welcome to the Student Enrollment Center! Here you will find all the necessary tools to enroll in your school sponsored policy.
We suggest you review the brochure for your rates, effective dates and optional coverages before starting the enrollment process. The plan’s benefits can be found in the brochure within the Schedule of Benefits section with the exclusions towards the back.
2022-2023 Enrollment Information

International Student Eligibility
All registered international students are automatically enrolled in this insurance plan on a mandatory basis at registration and the premium for coverage is added to their tuition billing. International Students do not have the option to waive.
Hard Waiver Student Eligibility
- All Full-time undergraduate students taking 12 or more credit hours (regardless of residential status),
- all residential Undergraduate students in all other programs (Including students with Dual Admission) regardless of credit hours
- All nursing Transfer students with 60 credits or more
- All graduate students participating in the following clinical programs with 6 or more credits are automatically enrolled in this insurance plan at registration and the premium for coverage is added to their tuition billing unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished: DPT, DOT, MSSLP, MSN, MSW, dual degree MSW, PsyD, and dual degree PsyD. Physician’s Assistant and Master’s in Nutrition,
- All residential graduate students in all other programs (Including Students with Dual Admission) regardless of Credit Hours
Are automatically enrolled in this Insurance plan unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished to Widener University through the online Campus Cruiser WebAdvisor waiver process.
Automatic Enrollment takes place after the enrollment deadline. To begin using your insurance or to avoid future reminder you can begin the enrollment process by following the instructions below.
1st year OT/PHT,MSSSLP, Students and Crozer-Allied Health Student Enrollment Instructions
Enrollment Deadlines:
- 1stYear OT/PT and Msslp Program Annual Enrollment Deadline: 6/16/22 – Closed
- Crozer-Allied Health Annual Deadline: 7/14/222 – Closed
To Enroll, please go to my.widener.edu and search “health insurance” in the search bar at the top. Click on “Student Health Insurance Waiver/Enroll”, you will need to sign in and then follow all directions to complete the waiver.
If you complete the online waiver process by the Deadlines mentioned above, you will be credited the insurance premium which is annually applied to your student statement of account. If you do not complete the online waiver process by the deadline, you will be automatically enrolled in the university student health insurance plan and a non-refundable $30 late fee applied to your student account.
If you have previously waived out of the insurance but have since lost coverage due to a Qualifying Life Event please contact us.
Please note: If you do not enroll for the year during the fall open enrollment period, you will not be able to enroll later during the 2022-2023 school year without experiencing a “Qualifying Life Event”. This means that the loss of coverage is no fault of your own or the policyholders (i.e. you get married or become too old to be on a family plan). You will be eligible to enroll within thirty days of this “Qualifying Life Event”. After thirty days, you will no longer be eligible.
Open Enrollment Periods for all 1st Year OT/PT,MSSLP Students, Nursing Transfer, and Crozer-Allied Health Students: If you are a student in the Fall semester and eligible to purchase coverage and you choose not to enroll for coverage before the Annual Enrollment Deadline mentioned above, you will not be eligible to enroll again until the start of next Fall unless you experience a “Qualifying Life Event” during the year.
All Other Hard waiver students (Undergraduates, Nursing Transfer Students, and all other graduate students)
Enrollment Deadlines:
- Annual Enrollment Deadline: 9/9/22 (For all hard-waiver students except for 1styear OT/PT d MSSLP and Crozer-Allied Health Students) – Closed
- Spring Enrollment Deadline: 1/27/23 (For new incoming students only)

*For new students in the Spring/Summer semester, your open enrollment deadline is January 27, 2023.
Students who did not enroll themselves during the open enrollment period may be able to enroll in the policy if they experience a Qualifying Life Event.
Qualifying Life Events include:
- Acquiring a new family member
- Marriage/Civil Union
- Divorce
- Loss or change of Job
- Expiration of Benefits
If you meet the requirements for a Qualifying Life Event, you will need to provide the following:
- Proof of qualifying life event/proof of involuntary loss of coverage
- Enrollment Form
- Payment
All documents and payment must be received within 30 days of the qualifying life event. After 30 days, the student will no longer be eligible to enroll in the plan, until fall of the following school year.
