Welcome to the Student Enrollment Center! Here you will find all the necessary tools to enroll in your school sponsored policy.

We suggest you review the certificate for your rates, effective dates, and optional coverages before starting the enrollment process. The plan’s benefits can be found in the certificate within the Schedule of Benefits section with the exclusions towards the back.

Student Eligibility

  • All Undergraduate Students taking 12 or more credit hours
  • All International Students
  • All Accelerated Nursing Students
  • all athletes (Undergraduate and Graduate) in their final year of study, who were granted an additional year of participation due to COVID-19

UNDERGRADUATE, INTERNATIONAL AND ATHLETE ENROLLMENT INSTRUCITIONS

Enrollment Deadlines:

  • Fall Enrollment Deadline (Coverage Dates 8/1/22-12/31/22) : 8/24/22
  • Spring/Summer Enrollment Deadline (Coverage Dates 1/1/23-7/31/23) : 1/8/23

To complete the Enrollment or the Waiver process, follow the instructions for #1 at  www.mnu.edu/required-items 


PLEAE NOTE: Students are required to Waive or Enroll in the School Health Insurance Plan in the Fall and Spring of each academic year regardless of whether they are continuing their coverage or newly eligible for the Student Health Insurance Plan.


Please Note:
If you waive the insurance, you will not be eligible to enroll until the Spring/Summer Open Enrollment Period, unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event.


ACCELERATED NURSING STUDENT ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS

  •  Fall 1 (Returning Students – Coverage Dates: 8/15/22-12/31/22) –  Deadline: 8/24/22
  • Fall 2 (New Students – Coverage Dates: 8/15/22 – 2/28/23)  –  Deadline: 8/24/22
  • Spring/Summer 1 (Returning Students – Coverage Dates 1/1/23-8/14/23)  –  Deadline: 1/8/23
  • Spring/Summer 1 (New Students – Coverage Dates: 3/2/23-8/24/23) – Deadline: 3/8/23

 


FOR STUDENTS STARTING IN AUGUST: If you have missed the hard waiver enrollment deadline, but have not previously waived out of the insurance, you will be automatically enrolled in the Coverage by your school, after the waiver deadline.

PLEAE NOTE: Students are required to Waive or Enroll in the School Health Insurance Plan in the Fall and Spring of each academic year regardless of whether they are continuing their coverage or newly eligible for the Student Health Insurance Plan.

 Please note: If you do not enroll for the year during the fall open enrollment period, you will not be able to enroll until the Spring/Summer Open Enrollment period without experiencing a “Qualifying Life Event”. This means that the loss of coverage is no fault of your own or the policyholders (i.e. you get married or become too old to be on a family plan). You will be eligible to enroll within thirty days of this “Qualifying Life Event”. After thirty days, you will no longer be eligible.

Open Enrollment Periods

Open Enrollment Periods for all Students: If you are a student in the Fall semester and eligible to purchase coverage and you choose not to enroll for coverage before the Fall Enrollment Deadline of *August 24, 2022, you will not be eligible to enroll again until the next available open Enrollment Period.

*For new or renewing students in the Spring semester, your open enrollment deadline is January 8, 2023.

*For new Accelerated Nursing students Starting in March, your open enrollment deadline is March 8, 2023.


Qualifying Life Event

Students who did not enroll themselves during the open enrollment period may be able to enroll in the policy if they experience a Qualifying Life Event.

Qualifying Life Events include:

  • Acquiring a new family member
  • Marriage/Civil Union
  • Divorce
  • Loss or change of Job
  • Expiration of Benefits


If you meet the requirements for a Qualifying Life Event, you will need to provide the following:

  • Proof of qualifying life event/proof of involuntary loss of coverage
  • Enrollment Form
  • Payment


All documents and payment must be received within 30 days of the qualifying life event. After 30 days, the student will no longer be eligible to enroll in the plan, until the next open enrollment period.
