Summer Session 2013
OPEN ENROLLMENT WILL BE ACTIVE STARTING 5/1/13
Summer Students
For students who were enrolled in the Rutgers student insurance plan in the spring semester, the student insurance plan will continue until 8/31/13 and no action is required.
For Student that waived the Rutgers coverage in the spring, the waiver will still be in effective until 8/31/13 and no action is required.
Important Information: If you were eligible and did not enroll during the fall or spring open enrollment period, you will not be eligible to enroll for the Summer without experiencing a “life change”. This means that the loss of coverage is no fault of your own or the policyholders (i.e. you get married or become too old to be on a family plan). You will be eligible to enroll within thirty days of this “life change”. After thirty days, you will no longer be eligible. Please click here for cost and more information:

Third Term (Summer) Students
Newly admitted Full Time Domestic Summer Students starting their Masters coursework in the Rutgers Business School and the Master in Social Work Program are called Third Term students. (when enrolled for full time credits) Third Term students are required to have health insurance to attend Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The insurance fee is put on your term bill and you must complete an on-line waiver or enroll in the University’s policy by the deadline.

SUMMER ENROLLMENT DEADLINE: 6/28/13
Students who do not respond by the deadline, will be automatically enrolled in the Summer coverage and will be responsible to pay the premium.
Eligible students who do enroll may also insure their Dependents. Please see the Enrollment Instructions below for more information.
International (Summer) Students on a Rutgers sponsored visa
All International students on a Rutgers University F1, F2, J1, or J2 sponsorship are automatically billed for this insurance Plan at registration unless an exemption is requested. Please contact the Center for International Faculty and Student Services to request an exemption from this insurance Plan. All students in the PALS (Program American Language) and Visiting Scholars are enrolled and billed for this insurance, unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished.
Eligible students who do enroll may also insure their Dependents. Eligible Dependents are the student’s spouse (husband, wife or civil union partner) or Domestic Partner and dependent children under age 30.
Please contact the Center for International Faculty and Student Services to enroll yourself and all of your eligible dependents
Newly Admitted Full Time (Summer) Students
Newly Admitted Undergraduate Student taking 12 or more credit hours in the summer and registered in Rutgers for Fall 2013 semester and Newly Admitted Graduate Student taking 9 or more credit hours in the summer and registered in Rutgers for Fall 2013 semester are considered full time summer students. (Law students and Rutgers Business students are full time summer students with 12 summer credits and registered in the fall)
You will NOT be automatically enrolled in the insurance if you are taking summer courses. A waiver is not needed. (A waiver will be required for the fall semester – notification will be sent when the waiver site is available for the Fall 2013 semester).

Newly Admitted Part-Time (Summer) Students
Newly Admitted Part-time degree-seeking student taking 1 or more credit hours and enrolled into a Rutgers program in the fall 2013 can enroll on a voluntary basis.

Dependents
Eligible students who do enroll may also insure their eligible Dependents. Dependents are the student’s spouse (husband, wife or civil union partner) or Domestic Partner and dependent children under age 30.

Summer Enrollment Deadline: 6/28/13
To enroll in summer coverage, students must download an enrollment form and submit by mail using a check or money order. All completed enrollments must be received by the Summer Enrollment Deadline.
