Welcome to the Travel Assistance Center! As a UnitedHealthcare member you are eligible for global emergency and medical assistance services provided by Scholastic Emergency Services (SES), an Assist America Partner. These benefits are available if you are traveling 100 miles or more from your permanent home, campus address, or while you are abroad. These services are accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year!

Sometimes while traveling you may feel “if it can go wrong, it will go wrong with me”. With this service, you have a caring partner to provide peace of mind for all issues that may occur while traveling. SES is committed to resolve emergencies by doing whatever it takes…their goal is to save lives and solve problems.

There are many services provided by this program, below is just a sample of what is offered:

Program Summary

Emergency Medical Evacuation

If a member becomes ill or injured in an area of the globe where appropriate care is not available, they will be safely evacuated to the nearest facility that meets our rigorous standards.

 

Repatriation

When deemed medically necessary, SES will provide transportation home or to a specified health facility.

 

Compassionate Visit

This benefit will arrange and pay the transportation costs for a loved one to join you wherever you are on the globe if it is expected that you will be hospitalized for more than seven days.
 

 

Foreign Hospital Admission Guarantee

Recognized worldwide, SES's partner Assist America can offer admission guarantee for members, and will advance funds directly to the treating facility if necessary, to guarantee the best of care.

 

Medical Consultation and Referrals

Medically certified, multilingual representatives are available 24/7 to evaluate, troubleshoot, and make immediate recommendations for any emergency situation.

 

Return of Mortal Remains

SES will arrange and pay for the necessary paperwork, body preparations and transport to bring the mortal remains of a covered individual home.

 

Medical Monitoring

A connected, caring and medically savvy partner will stay with you for the duration of your emergency to ensure all of your needs are met.

 

Prescription Assistance

If you have lost or left behind your prescription medication, they will work with the prescribing physician and a pharmacy in the area of travel to replace your medicine.

 

Care for Minor Children

If you become sick or injured while traveling, and have a young child who will be unattended, arrangements will be made for local child care or pay for them to return home to a family member.

 

Emergency Trauma Counseling

You will receive immediate telephone based trauma counseling that will refer you to a local provider for follow-up if medically required or requested.

 

Lost Luggage or Document Assistance

SES will work with airlines, transportation companies, and agencies if your luggage, travel tickets, passport or other important documents are lost.

 

Legal and Interpreter Referrals

SES can make recommendations for trustworthy legal counsel and interpreter services in any country.
